RONDOUT VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking Two (2) 12 month Welcome Center Receptionists at the RV High School.
These positions fall under the Ulster County Civil Service Title, Typist.
One of the two positions will work in the Curriculum Office in July & August, the other will remain at the Welcome Center.
All Civil Service laws, rules and regulations apply.
These will be PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENTS which means that no valid eligible list exists.
These positions may be filled by qualified applicants on a provisional basis until such time as an appropriate eligible list can be established.
The UC Personnel Department will hold a competitive examination for this title.
The provisional employee will be required to compete against all other qualified applicants.
A permanent appointment will then be made from the resulting eligible list.

Responsibilities:
At the welcome center, the ability to multitask is crucial due to the high level of activity.
As a part of this role, your primary responsibilities will involve greeting and assisting students, parents, and community members.
Additionally, you will be responsible for verifying student attendance throughout the day, issuing bus passes, filing documents, and answering phone calls.
A quick-thinking, yet calm and patient demeanor is necessary to provide helpful assistance to all individuals.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, 12 month, Monday-Friday 7am - 3pm or 7:
30am - 3:
30pm during the school year.
Summer hours are Monday - Thursday, flexible full-time
shift and Fridays off.
Additional Duties:
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the direct report and/or Superintendent.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
